Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage VS Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage and Manual Lymphatic Drainage are NOT the same.  Although both work with the lymphatic system, they serve different purposes.  Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage focuses on temporary body contouring, reducing water retention, and enhancing your silhouette.  Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a medically recognized technique that supports lymphatic function, reduces swelling, assists post-operative recovery, helps manage lymphedema and lipedema, softens fibrosis, and promotes tissue healing.  Choosing the right technique is essential to achieving safe, effective, and lasting results.  Learn more or schedule your appointment at:

This video will give you a guide how to give yourself a Lymphatic Massage for swelling leg.

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a medically recognized, gentle therapy designed to support the body's natural lymphatic function. Using light, precise movements, MLD may help:

  • Reduce swelling and fluid retention
  • Support the removal of metabolic waste
  • Promote healthy lymphatic circulation
  • Encourage tissue healing after surgery
  • Help manage fibrosis and scar tissue
  • Relieve pressure, tightness, and discomfort
  • Improve comfort and mobility during recovery

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is not deep tissue massage or a body-sculpting treatment. It is a specialized clinical technique based on lymphatic anatomy, physiology, and the gentle stimulation of the superficial lymphatic vessels to support the body's natural healing process.

Cosmetic Post-Operative Recovery Care

Post-Operative Program

Post-Operative Recovery Program

Your surgeon performed the procedure—our role is to help support your recovery with safe, evidence-informed care that respects your body's natural healing process.

At Lymph in Motion by Criselda White, our Post-Operative Recovery Program is designed for clients recovering from liposuction, tummy tuck, BBL, breast procedures, arm and thigh lifts, facial procedures, and other cosmetic surgeries. Every treatment plan is individualized based on your procedure, stage of healing, symptoms, and your surgeon's recommendations.

Our program follows a three-stage recovery approach, progressing with your body's natural healing timeline rather than rushing the process.

3 Stages

Stage 1 – Acute Recovery

The focus is on supporting healthy lymphatic function, managing post-operative swelling, promoting comfort, and protecting delicate healing tissues using gentle Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

Stage 2 – Tissue Remodeling

As healing progresses, treatment is adjusted to address tissue mobility, scar management, early fibrosis, and continued edema management while respecting your body's recovery.

Stage 3 – Recovery Optimization

Once tissues have matured appropriately, treatment focuses on improving tissue mobility, managing persistent fibrosis when present, supporting scar flexibility, and helping you transition toward long-term recovery..

Services we offer

Fibrosis Massage

Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage

Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage

Fibrosis Massage

Fibrosis Massage is a specialized treatment designed to help improve tissue mobility and comfort following cosmetic surgery. As the body heals, excess collagen may create areas of firmness, tightness, or uneven tissue known as fibrosis. This service uses gentle, evidence-informed techniques tailored to your stage of healing to help soften restricted tissue, improve flexibility, reduce discomfort, and support the body's natural recovery process.

Each treatment is personalized based on your surgical procedure, tissue condition, and recovery goals. Your session may also include Manual Lymphatic Drainage, scar mobilization (when appropriate), compression guidance, and home care recommendations to support optimal healing.

Ideal for clients experiencing:

  • Hard or firm areas after surgery
  • Tissue tightness or restricted mobility
  • Scar adhesions
  • Uneven tissue texture
  • Persistent post-operative swelling

Fibrosis Massage is performed according to your stage of healing and is not intended to replace your surgeon's medical care. Medical clearance may be required depending on your procedure and recovery status.

This service is ideal for individuals looking to:

  • Reduce temporary bloating and puffiness
